Matheus Cunha sends two-word message after Bruno Fernandes moment for Man Utd

Matheus Cunha delivered a classy tribute to Bruno Fernandes after the Manchester United skipper made his 300th appearance for the club during Saturday's clash with Brighton. Fernandes, who arrived from Sporting back in 2020, has established himself as a genuine fan favourite and dependable presence since making the switch to Old Trafford. The Portuguese maestro has netted 100 goals and registered 87 assists for the Red Devils, claiming two major honours along the way.

He celebrated his 300th outing against Brighton and played a pivotal role in securing a 4-2 triumph. The 31-year-old delivered a captain's performance and dominated the midfield as the Red Devils secured their third consecutive victory. Following Fernandes' Instagram reflection on reaching that significant milestone, Cunha posted a heartfelt message to his United colleague.

"Celebrating 300th in the best way [raising hands emoji]," Fernandes wrote, accompanied by multiple snapshots from the match. Cunha responded via his Instagram story, writing: "300 capi," alongside two clapping emojis.

Bryan Mbeumo, Ayden Heaven, Amad Diallo, Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt were amongst the United squad members who commented on Fernandes' post as he acknowledged reaching his United milestone.

Regarding the match itself, Cunha and Casemiro fired United into a first-half advantage before Mbeumo extended the Red Devils' lead to three goals shortly after the hour mark.

Danny Welbeck and Charalampos Kostoulas threatened a late comeback for the visitors, but Mbeumo struck his second and United's fourth to seal the victory.

Reflecting on his team's victory over Brighton, Amorim shared after the match: "I feel good. I think we played well but we suffered in the end, a little bit, our fault in the way we conceded the first goal.

"You can sense that, in that time of the game, we are near the fourth goal, not to suffer one. But they did everything. They run, they play with the ball, they kept the ball when it was needed. So it was a good game.

"You have the game under control and then you suffer a goal, and then we suffer a little bit. They have a lot of talent.

"They have a lot of quality with the ball and they control that and they use that momentum to control the game, but we are improving in the way we respond to bad moments, and today, we did it again.

"We respond a little bit better and that's really important. We know how to suffer. If we suffer together, it's so much easier to win games."
